Terms & Conditions
Last updated: May 2026
By using VentAbout you agree to these terms. They’re reasonable. We wrote them to protect both you and the platform, not to bury you in legalese.
Who can use VentAbout
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Your account is personal to you. Please don’t share your login credentials with anyone else.
What you can post
VentAbout is for genuine, first-hand accounts of experiences with companies, employers, and organisations. Your vent should be truthful, factual, and based on something you actually experienced or witnessed directly.
What you cannot post
- ✕False, fabricated, or deliberately misleading complaints.
- ✕The real names of private individuals. Describe roles and actions, not people.
- ✕Personal contact details: phone numbers, home addresses, personal email addresses.
- ✕Hate speech, threats, or content designed to harass a specific person.
- ✕Promotional content, spam, or competitor attacks disguised as complaints.
- ✕Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property.
- ✕Anything illegal under the laws of the United Kingdom.
Your content
You own what you write. By posting it on VentAbout, you grant us a licence to display, store, and distribute it on the platform. We won’t sell your content or use it for advertising. You can delete your account and request removal of your personal data at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
Our moderation rights
We can remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend or permanently close accounts that repeatedly violate them. We try to be fair and consistent. If you believe a removal was a mistake, email us at hello@ventabout.com.
Our liability
VentAbout is a platform for user-generated content. We don’t independently verify every vent, and we’re not responsible for the accuracy of individual claims. The views expressed in vents belong to the people who wrote them, not to VentAbout.
We provide the platform as-is and cannot guarantee it will be available 100% of the time. We’re not liable for any indirect loss arising from your use of the platform.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
If we make a significant change, we’ll notify you by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of VentAbout after that date means you accept the updated terms.
